Stephan has received his habilitation from the Johannes Kepler University Linz! The colloquium for his habilitation thesis ‘Evolutionary Computation and Symbolic Regression in Scientific Modeling’ took place in May. This comprised his many successful research projects in the field of data-based modeling conducted at the Heuristic and Evolutionary Algorithms Laboratory and Bioinformatics Research Group during the past ten years.

His habilitation was supervised and supported by Prof. Armin Biere and Prof. E. Peter Klement of the JKU, as well as FH-Prof. Michael Affenzeller of the FH OOE. This Monday he was officially awarded the habilitation degree by the rector of the JKU, Univ. Prof. Dr. Meinhard Lukas.
