Health Data

In Austria, around 115,000 to 130,000 people suffered from some form of dementia in 2020, and this number is expected to double by 2050. Dementia, and its sub type Alzheimer’s, is an incurable disease in which abnormal changes occur in the human brain, leading to loss of cognitive and ultimately physical abilities over time.  To be able to offer support to both those affected and their relatives the MAS Alzheimerhilfe association, based in Upper Austria, offers several dementia service points scattered across Upper Austria, where Alzheimer stage specific training courses can be carried out. Currently the preparation and documentation of these training courses is very time-consuming and neither centralized nor administrated by a digital solution.

In this project a framework is implemented which allows the trainers to plan, document, share and analyze their training plans digitally. This framework is built on a new database containing by the trainers already used training materials. Additionally, an AI component is implemented and integrated in the Webapp that is able to automatically generate optimized, stage-specific training plans.

In addition, to the implementation of the framework and the AI system the whole implementation process is constantly evaluated. The goal of this evaluation is to measure the effects and impact of the digital solution on the MAS trainers.
