New Project Launched: SmartBeetle
The SMARTbeetle project, involving partners from Austria such as SCCH, University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, TU Vienna, and BizUp and partners from the Czech Republic, aims to find more effective and environmentally friendly attractants for bark beetles. Artificial intelligence is being used to develop the right pheromone blend for the pest traps.
SMARTbeetle (Smell-based Molecular Artificial Intelligence to Fight Bark Beetle) aims to develop optimized pheromone blends using biological methods and artificial intelligence. The goal is to increase the effectiveness of traps, protect non-target species, and reduce the use of pesticides.
