Genetic Programming in Theory and Practice @ Michigan State University

Last week, Susi, Stephan and even Jonas, who is currently working at the University Health Network im Toronto General Hospital, Canada, attended the workshop Genetic Programming in Theory and Practice (GPTP); Lukas, our colleague working with the HEAL group, also attended the workshop. For the first time, GPTP was held not at the University of Michigan; instead it was hosted by the BEACON Center for Evolution in Action at Michigan State University in East Lansing, where Stephan worked as guest researcher back in 2014. Lukas gave a great presentation about his research titled "Symbolic Regression by Exhaustive Search". It was a fascinating workshop with lots of interesting talks and discussion about genetic programming, machine learning, and bioinformatics - we are now already looking forward to GPTP 2020!
